Forgotten Colony is an epic sci-fi story that transpires in an immersive fantasy world. Engaging plot. Fully developed characters. Imaginative environments. And plenty of plot twists to keep the reader excited to turn the page.
When humans finally develop interstellar travel, real colonization of the stars begins. The Earth is dying. Mars and Luna absorb most of the population but the rich and powerful dream of another Earth-like planet. Eleven colony ships are sent out over just a few short years to find such a new paradise. As tends to happen, people don't get along well together. Eventually, it escalates to war. The First Galactic War it is called, in human arrogance. For it only involves factions of the human race. No alien life forms. Colonization comes to an abrupt stop. Supply ships cease their runs to feed those newly inhabited worlds. All focus in the solar system is on the war effort. Mankind takes another huge step backwards and must rebuild. A hundred and fifty years go by before we consider interstellar expansion again. The first step, obviously is to reclaim our lost colonies. If they still exist. Book one of the Forgotten Colony begins at this point. The habitable planet revolving around Tau Ceti needs to be reclaimed. A first contact mission is activated with strict protocols. Depending on the value of the colony and how society has developed, a plan is devised and sent back to the invested company. Only Tau Ceti Four is a special world. Rich in culture despite their relatively short existence, and full of fascinating life forms. The crew of the Brisbane sent to begin this process of reacquiring the colony stumble across several revelations that forces them to change their mission objectives. When things go from bad to worse, the mission is scrapped as each individual needs to fight for their own survival. Expect several installments in this massive sci-fi/fantasy series. Written for general audience it is suitable for teens and adults alike. No sexually explicit scenes in this story. |
